Listings by location and specialty are available on the Directory Page. There is also a Summary Showing All Teachers with Name, Location, and Language.
This project is in memory of International Master Boris Kogan.
Information in the directory is free to both teachers and students. Teachers are listed by location (including online and e-mail lessons), by specialty (learning disabled children, team coaching, openings, languages in which lessons are given, etc.), and alphabetically by last name. Duif's Place also includes a chess page for kids, and one for parents of young players.

| I won a gold medal on the second board of the Canadian women's team in 1984 at the chess olympics. I teach chess to children since twenty years (Montreal chess association "Echecs et Maths" trainer for the young champions of Alsace in France).Even though I played sometimes in the Olympics I have the same opinion than the Polgar sisters and believe that young girls have to play in mixed tournamants to improve their play.I don't like segregation in chess. |

I am not a titled chess player. What I am is an excellent teacher with a great love for the game. I have helped numerous beginners and novices from age 6 to 60 learn the game and improve their play. I have my share of club trophies and have won prizes in national events in my class. But what I treasure most is seeing the light of understanding grow in the eyes of the students I have taught -- and then to see them succeed in putting that understanding to work in their games. I teach a regular novice class each 1st Tuesday at the Baton Rouge Chess Club and have a regular list of private students. Id be glad to work with you as well. Additional Comments from the Teacher:
Educated and articulate. I've played tournament chess - OTB and correspondence - since 1964. At 55 years of age, I'm still active in AZ chess. Out of 101 participants, I shared equal 2nd thru 4th place at the Tucson Open, Jan 1997. During the 70's and 80's, I was many times champion of the South Penn Chess Club. I have placed in numerous Pennsylvania and Arizona tournaments. Shared 1st and drew with WIM Irene Aronoff at Wilkes-Barre 1983.
