Additional Comments from the Teacher:
I am the official game analyst at the annual USA Junior Chess Olympics
and Pennsylvania State Scholastic Championships. I teach classes in basic and advanced chess and supervise chess play at the Chautauqua Institution each Summer.
I also lecture, analyze student games, direct tournaments, and play simuls in YOUR area with my
Chess for Everyone! workshops as well as doing much the same thing at all three Castle Chess Camp locations. Besides offering "Personalized Correspondence Lessons" through the US mail or e-mail, I am a faculty member of the Pennsylvania Department of Education accredited "Developing Higher Order Thinking Skills Through Chess Seminar""
along with American Chess School executive director Dr. Robert Ferguson, Jr.
My students have won championships at the state and national levels and big money prizes at national tournaments.
Some have gone on to master the game and/or become teachers.

Additional Comments from the Teacher:
I have designed a complete system based on Steinitzian principles, incorporating American contributions from Alburt, Byrne, Benko, Rohde, and Benjamin's CHESS LIFE articles, and games. I traveled for years with IM Boris Kogan and have used his wisdom to teach a US Amateur Champion, a 2500 student, and others on the Top 50 List. I have required reading, homework, and a system to help any person improve on their own, with only general guidance after the first dozen or so lessons. I recommend BOOKUP and any good playing program. I have a huge database and can bring anyone into the 21st century. I have beaten most of the top players, Fedorowicz, Rohde, Wolff, Igor Ivanov, Christiansen, Shirazi (4 times), Sagalchik, and Hracek and can help you get higher-rated scalps with aggressive fundamentally sound chess.

I am not a titled chess player. What I am is an excellent teacher
with a great love for the game. I have helped numerous beginners
and novices from age 6 to 60 learn the game and improve their play.
I have my share of club trophies and have won prizes in national
events in my class. But what I treasure most is seeing the light
of understanding grow in the eyes of the students I have taught -- and
then to see them succeed in putting that understanding to work in their
games. I teach a regular novice class each 1st Tuesday at the Baton
Rouge Chess Club and have a regular list of private students. I’d be
glad to work with you as well. A list of references can be provided
on request (i.e., students who liked my lessons! Ha! Ha!)

Additional Comments from the Teacher:
Educated and articulate. I've played
tournament chess - OTB and correspondence
- since 1964. At 55 years of age, I'm
still active in AZ chess. Out of 101
participants, I shared equal 2nd thru
4th place at the Tucson Open, Jan 1997.
During the 70's and 80's, I was many
times champion of the South Penn Chess
Club. I have placed in numerous
Pennsylvania and Arizona tournaments.
Shared 1st and drew with WIM Irene
Aronoff at Wilkes-Barre 1983.
