Team Standings at the end of Round 4
The Chinese team, ranked 30th coming into this event, keeps a firm hold on first place with a 2.5-1.5 victory over Cuba. Russia slips into 2nd place with a 3- 1 victory over Germany (both Kasparov and Kramnik drew their games). Armenia 1 had its first really good day with a 4-0 victory over Indonesia. On the other hand, Armenia 2 lost to Belarus 1-3. Armenia 3 caught up with their countrymen (in spite of not entering until the second round of the competition) with a 3-1 victory over Japan. Sweden scored a perfect 4-0 against Australia, and Kazakhstan did the same against Switzerland.
The USA beat Norway, but only by 2.5-1.5, Yugoslavia had the same margin vs. Canada, and Hungary managed only the same score against Portugal, so none of these teams gained any ground against the other medal favorites. Bosnia & Herzegovina even managed to slip back half a point, with a 2-2 tie against France
Bangladesh, Mauritius, The Philippines and Finland also had perfect scores today.
Teams shown in bold were considered good medal possibilities at the beginning of the event.
